Driving an old VW bus - that was already our way of life. Since a teenager in the States, Filip cought the aircooled hook. He met Augusta then our son Elios came along, and the old chalenging dream got clearer. Now here we are, on the road. We're leaving our dear old Europe for a longest strech of land deprived of western lifestyle, culture and parts...

In a 1977 VW bus from Poland through the Baltic countries, then accross Russia and into Mongolia.

Thereafter, by train accross China.

Once we get to South-East Asia, we'll be completely free to either buy another air-cooled bus, or rent a flat, or go on with our backpakcs... Only the future, and this blog will tell...

The team

Filip: Driver and VW Gyver
Filip is 35 and has probably driven more than 350.000 km so far, from Poland, his motherland, throughout the Old continent, from one air cooled meeting to the next, and back in the days around the Eastern USA. After his first Russian adventure to Ural in 2005, he is really eager to go back to the Wild East, further East, for more adventures! For him, the crucial challenge is to drive through an authentic "aircooled parts desert" raging from Poland to Thailand for about 10000kms - a huge hole, where we're left only to our innovation and the spare parts that we drag along with us.

Augusta: the soul of a linguist and a traveller
She's French, but at a first glance, you wouldn't know. Augusta has always been surrounded by different nationalities and languages. That's why she became a translator. Now, it's high time to study again the cyrillic alphabet, catch some Russian and Mongolian sayings, start learning Chinese, and who knows what next... She will also be busy with organizing the trip for all the family, that's no problem for her!

Elios came to us as we were already planning to go. It was on October 6th 2009, and we waited until he got ready to enjoy the adventure. Today, he runs towards the world, curious, charmful, with his eyes and ears wide open, his first word in English was "key" and that's why he will open us the doors to every peoples'hearts. Thanks buddy !
